My brake lights just stopped and i can assume its not the bulbs since the brake controller light has stopped.

Check your tail light fuse on the dodge ram the dash lights and tail lights use the same fuse so if the tail light fuse blows your dash lights will go out to alert you of no tail lights. My passenger side tail light will not work.
